Halloween and Pumpkins and my Pumpkins!

Pictures 1-2: Some of our pumpkins and squash, we used a magnifying glass and I wrote down our findings and discoveries of we found exploring them! That pumpkin on the far right is called a "Cinderella" pumpkin, is it not awesome?!

Picture 3: Lilly had to bring something Orange to her class for Halloween, I made the oranges Jack-O-Lanterns with some vinyl!

Picture 4: I made this for Lilly's class as a Halloween Sensory box for their Halloween party! These are water balls that I bought in the floral section at Joann's. I bought them dry and Lilly had a blast watching them grow over the next couple hours! We did a batch for ourselves and put spooky items in it to play with at home! Later we put them in the bathtub and the girls took a bath with them!! BIG HIT!!

Pictures 5-6: Raley and Lilly painted some pumpkins with texture brushes, dot paint and regular paint and I carved a few!

Pictures 7-8: Trunk or Treat at my niece and nephews school, Lilly was a cowgirl!

Pictures 9-12: Painting with Halloween colors, Trying to steal Ray's sucker, Hanging with her BFFs

Picture 13: Halloween! This was Lilly original costume, then my sister showed her the cowgirl and she changed her mind, then come Oct.31 she changed her mind again! Geez! This is them right after we got back from Trick or Treating and she was so excited about her candy!

Treasure Hunting

I bought this for $4.00 at one of my favorite antique stores! It's about 10 inches across. My plan is to frame it in a glass front and back frame and hang it in my room. I am going to paint the walls in my bedroom a warm grey so I think this will pop nicely! Since my daughters and I live with my parents it is really the only room I have to keep all the things I love! A long time ago I had a handful of old doily's that were made by my daughters grandmother on their father's side. That I was going to frame and hang but those are now in my storage where they will stay. One day when my daughters are grown they can have them. So I have been looking for new ones that I love to hang!  This is a perfect addition to my doily collection!

Compost Bin DIY

The first picture is of the compost bin the first try, it would have worked fine but I got feed up with it! It was taking to long to find the time to cut the wood because I cant have the kids around me while doing it and I was really just wanting to get it done. So I unscrewed it all and made just a frame with an open front. Then I used this thick mesh that my mother got at habitat for humanity on the inside and for the door flap on the front. I used a staple gun to hold the mesh on the inside. Then stapled down one side of the flap on the front. The other side of the front flap is looped around a couple nails to hold it up. That way I can easily open the flap to be able to turn the compost pile and then hang the flap back up when I am done! I made it all with scrap wood I had in the workshop, so it is not the prettiest thing but I figured next summer I will know more about composting and can make a better system.

Treasure Hunting

This is my 1950's Royal Typewriter that I bought the last week at an antique shop ! Shes a real Betty!! The story with this typewriter is... I will worn you it is a sad story. I saw it at a antique shop that I frequent and my heart skipped a beat! But the price tag was $35 and while it was love at first sight I really didn't need it! So I went home and googled it trying to convince myself that I needed to race back and snatch her up! When I looked her up, I could not find it for less then $300 and some up to $600 in prim condition with manual and case ( which condition was great but I did not have the manual or case)!! But it was still! When I went back to get her, they had dropped the price to $19.00!! I bought her and took her to her new home, Lilly was super excited because she really wanted to play with it, and she did. The next day we went outside to take pictures of it and after I was done, Lilly snuck up and took it and tried to creep away with it but I caught her and said "Freeze, give that back" ( I had a bad feeling as soon as I said it) well, she got mad because she thought I was taking pictures of it to sell Maybe I was and chucked it annnnd cracked it right under the space bar. Ohhh Lilly, I think four is an passionate exhausting age. So now the typewriter lives in my room. I think I will type Thank you notes for my Etsy shop on her!
