Lillys Lalaloopsy Birthday Party Decorations

These are some of the decorations I made for Lilly's Lalaloopsy Birthday party. The 1st and 2nd pictures are of the Button Bunting I made. It is two sided so if the wind twirled it you would not see a blank side. I just hot glued the felt together. The 3rd and 4th pictures are of the plates I made. I thought buttons would be super cute, but I could not find any so I punch 4 holes and used plastic lanyard then taped it to the back. The 5th and 6th picture are of flowers I originally made to go on the painting table but it was waaaay to windy. I bought the flowers the colors of "Blossom Flower Pot" doll and daisy are her thing. I used vintage bobbins to hold the flowers wrapped in yard to match. The last picture is of the "L" I hung on the front door. I painted it and glued buttons and crystals on. Every year I save a decoration from the girls birthday party's and put it their room. Lilly has puff tissue balls hanging from the ceilling in her room 3rd birthday, A fairy lanyard from her 4th birthday, and the letter "L" from her 5th. There were alot more decorations but I did not take pictures of them because everything got so busy!!

Lillys 5th Lalaloopsy Birthday Party!!

For Lilly's 5th Birthday she wanted Lalaloopsy theme!! Iam not going to lie at first I did not like these dolls. At all. I thought they were REALLY freaky looking. But every time we went to Target or Walmart I past them and... well I guess they grew on me. I even had Lilly on the " Eww Lalaloopsy are  freaky looking train" but I eventually bought one for Raleys Easter basket, and that was the beggining to the end. I love these dolls!! I love playing with the girls with them, and I love the fact that they each have their own "personality" and they were "sewn together"! So when Lilly said she wanted to have a Lalaloopsy Birthday Party, I was excited!!

Since there are no Lalaloopsy birthday party supplies out there. So I made most of her party supplies! We had a lady on etsy make the birthday invitations with Lillys four favorite dolls. Flower pot, Prairie Dusty Trails, Coral Shell,  Crumb. What we decided to do was instead of just an all around Lalaloopsy theme we did a theme for each doll! For Flower Pot I got flower pots and primed them and then we had a table set up in the colors for Flower Pot with all the painting supplies so the kids could paint there flower pots. Then we had Morning Glories that Lilly grew from seed for the kids to plant in their pots once they dried ( This was the first activity we did so they had time to dry). For Sugar Crumb we had a Tea Party at the table above! For the table cloth I bought yellow gingham fabric and sewed white pompoms on the fabric and put a pink table cloth underneath so it would look like Sugar Crumbs dress! For the button bunting I cut out from felt and hot glued them onto black ribbon I had then used puff paint to paint the X's onto the felt. I could not find button plates so I made some for the Tea Party. I used the plastic lanyard that you make bracelets from, then I poked four holes in the plates and threaded the lanyard thew and taped it to the back to create the button look! I made lots of Button themed Tea Party treats! I make Birthday Party mix, Dot cookies, Dot candies, As for Table decoration I used vintage wood thread spool that I have and put yarn to match the colors of all the dolls and sprinkled buttons around the center of the table. For Prairie Dusty Trails we had a pin the star on Prairie Dusty Trails. I reeeeally wanted to see If my friend would haul one of her pony's over for pony rides... but thought I was getting a little overboard with that! Plus I wanted to save that idea for if or I should say when we have a horse party! For Coral Shells we were going to play in the pool I had set up but the kids got so into the other activity's we ran out of time!!

Her cake I made from scratch, She wanted Strawberry for the inside white icing on the outside with buttons (in case you are not familiar with Lalaloopsy buttons are a big thing with them). The only thing that happened with the cake was this, like I said I made it from scratch so I used real strawberry's blended into the cake batter so I guess after it baked and everything.. it turned more of a... meat color. yes meat. So I brought the cake out and everyone Ohhhh and Ahhhh over how pretty it was and one of the kids asked what flavour it was riiiight when I was cutting into it and scooping it out. So the conversation played out like this Kid- "What kind of cake is inside?!?!!! a bunch of other kids- "Ohhhh yeah whats inside!!?" Me- "It is a....( Cutting and getting ready to serve as I say it for dramatic appearance) Then I proudly show my slice of cake as another kid cuts off my "a..." and says "Meat Cake?????, is that Bologna??" and it spreads like wildfire, "What, I don't want a meat cake?! Mom, is this meat?!" Ewwww Iam not eating that!!" etc. you get the idea. I had to convince a few that it was good with a bite and tummy rub jester but they all ate it and had seconds! Iam not going to lie, it tasted unbelievably good, but looked kind of nasty on the inside. Ehhh Lilly was happy and the cake was dubbed the "meat cake" for several days as kids came by to play and asked if we had anymore "meat cake". So I do not think I will be making strawberry cake for awhile. There is a picture of the Dot cookies I made for the Tea party part, unfortunately I did not get many pictures of the Tea party part My parents were out of town in Jerusalem on the Holy Land Tour so I did not have a camera man handy!!

The other pictures are of riding her new bike. The thing with the bike, if you notice it does not have training wheels or peddles on it. I had Jason finish putting the bike together and asked him not to put the peddles and training wheels on it so it made it a balance bike. That way she can learn to ride it with out training wheels. I would not take that long except it was such a terribly hot summer that if the kids were outside they wanted to be in the pool. So now that it has cooled off we are going to have a go at it again!

I am going to have another post on the stuff that I made.

Lilly's Lalaloopsy Birthday!

Lillys 5th Birthday is coming up very soon and she could not be more excited!! She decided she wanted a Lalaloopsy Party! We were talking about what to do and she decided to a Activity for each doll... Sort of. Her four favorite are Blossom Flower Pot, Crumbs Sugar Cookie, Corral Sea Shells, Prairie Dusty Trails. So for Crumbs Sugar Cookie we hare having a Tea Party, For Blossom Flower Pot we are painting flower pots and Lilly picked out the seeds she wanted and planted them a grew them herself! She picked Morning Glory's. For Prairie Dusty Trails we are doing a pin the tail on Prairie and Coarl Sea Shells we will have the big pool set up in the backyard, I may get talked into pulling out the huge tarp and running the hose down the swing set slide (We did it last year a lot).. Its a crowd pleaser buuut it kills the grass.. Anyways Lilly has invited the kids from her class at school and all her neighborhood friends, She is so excited!! She even has the dress Sugar crumbs is wearing to wear for her party! I found a lady on Etsy that made the inventions and Table Cards and they turned out amazing! So amazing that when we went to pick up the inventions at Costco when I pulled them out and showed them to Lilly she screamed!! This is just the first of a ton of Lalaloopsy Birthday post. I just made a table cloth that matches Sugar Crumbs dress and all Lilly could do was hug it!

Lillys 4th Birthday Party !!

This is the table where the kids painted the "Fairy Houses". I flipped two flower pots upside down and used wood from the workshop for the top. I have all the "Fairy Houses" set out for when the kids arrived! I was wanting to use big tree stumps the size of the pots in the pic but I could not find ANY at all. All the stumps on craigslist were rotten or you needed a chainsaw to cut them apart, and I have not learned how to use a chainsaw yet...

These are the Fairy Houses the Lilly and I painted! I put them in the middle of the table for inspiration for the girls to get started!

Concentrating on Painting her Fairy House

 Ray Painting her fairy house

They had a great time!

This was my FIRST cake that I have made from scratch! I was excited with how it turned out! I made all the flowers with gum paste! I had a fairy standing out of the middle of the cake ( it was removed in this pic) and I wanted the flowers to look like they were falling down the side of the cake and sparkler candles!!! The inside of the cake I made in layers of pink, It would have had another layer of pink but it stuck to the pan. Bummer. Lilly was really excited when she finally saw her cake because she had not seen it before I brought it out! I made it in secret! She especially loved the inside!! I also made the icing from scratch! It was so good!! The layers of cake are not the same size I just eyeballed it and tried to hurry I had limited time without Lilly seeing it.

We had pink lemonade to drink! For snacks we had Cupcake Kabbobs ( Cupcakes with icing, Marshmellows, Waffle cookies ) All kinds of yummy cookie!

Fairy Party favors and activitys

These are the Party Favors and Activities we did.  For the Party Favors we got Pixie Sticks, Water Bottles with the kids name on them in vinyl from the cricut and Bubbles! Then the girls got to keep there Fairy Flower Halos and Wings that they wore at the party! Then during the party we painted Wooden "Fairy Houses" and Wooden "Fairies" that they took home also!

For a sec, ( Bare with me...)Jump back to this past Halloween I made a giant felt pumpkin countdown calender ( someday I will put that on here) and I put a piece of candy in a pocket for each day. But to buy the candies, I took Lilly to "Party City" and they have this huge section that is like 15 Candies for a dollar and you can use a mini shopping Basket so Lilly was really into it! So ever since then (of course its RIGHT next to Michael's, drat) she is always wanting to go into the "Candy Store"well so for her Birthday I told her we could go pick out some candies for her party! She lost it, she was so excited! We went into the "Candy Store" and she got her min shopping basket and just wandered and looked at all the candy adding to her basket as we went! Then she came across these and thought they were wonderful, so being the sweet mommy that I am I told her that if she wanted to she could pick one out for each of her friends and keep the candies in her basket for herself! That won me Mommy of the Year or at least 5min ;) It was fun and I know she had a blast!

Bubbles

I got these at Michael's for $1.00, bpa free! My mom printed them out using Vinyl from her cricut

These were the Fairy houses that I got for the kids to paint a $1.00 at Michaels or Joann's

I did these wooden Fairys for the kids to paint ! I bought the wooden ped dolls at Joanns for $1.29 for a two pack. The wings I bought at Michaels for next to nothing. Hot glued them together! Instent Fairy!

I had two boy fairies for the boys to paint and the rest girls! Boy on the left side, Girl on the right side!

I made these Flower Fairy Halo's for the girls to wear and take home. Since the girls were all different ages form 19 months to 12 years I made them so they were able to tie in the back. These were a pain to make because I thought that the wire would be best if it went THREW the flower steam part. After I made these I thought about it, I should have just bought Flower Garland and made the Halos with that!! It would have been so much easier!!

We took these to school. Because everything has to be prepackaged, I really wanted to bake cupcakes or cakepops something fun! But allergies. We tied bubble wands ( I got them at walmart I think they were 6 for a $1.00)  to them with a "Lillys 4!" scrapbook punchout. Lilly was super excited so thats all that matters! I came to class a couple mins early and snuck her out so she could put them in her classmates "mailbox" along with a picture that I had taken at the begging of class of the whole class together

XO!
