Our Spooky House

This is Lil's and Ray's playhouse and for Halloween we decided to decorate it up a bit! Lilly loves it she calls it her spooky house! It has a raven on the roof, and hanging spider, "Hunted House" sign, creepy fabric, candy corn lights and pumpkin garland, spooky purple, orange, black flowers in her flower pots, and the orange burlap bunting I made! Even the fairy garden has some spooky additions with its mini bunting and headstones! We have mini pumpkins to go in the fairy town to but they are not in the picture! I made a wreath to go on the front door but Ray would not stop plucking the pumpkins off!! So I took it down.. maybe next year! For the bunting I used black puffy paint and put it on with a paint brush, I figured that paint would run with the rain and then just wove the packing twin threw the burlap!

Halloween Countdown Calender

The girls have the best time going to the store and picking out all the pieces to use for our countdown calender! Now I know a lot of people already think that there kids get enough candy in this month, but its fun and they really look forward to it! They put two pieces of candy in each pocket, one for each! I made this last year super fast and just made it with felt and hot glue and random scraps of ribbon, tulle, and scrapbook nicknack's! I made the 20th look "extra special" because its Ray's birthday!

Banana Ice Cream!

I am always looking for recipes that are more nutritious, and healthier for my girls! So I saw this one and I had to try it!! All it has in it is Bananas, and Peanut Butter! Oh and I added a teeny tiny sprinkle of coco powder, because who doesn't love those three together!

All you do is peel the bananas, put them in the freezer and let them get hard. Then put the bananas in a blender ( I used the vita-mix) add a tablespoon of Peanut Butter a half a teaspoon of coco powder a little bit of water to get things going and mix! It should come out like the picture above! One thing, make sure you peel the bananas before you put them in the freezer! Because the first time I did this I didn't even think about it, and just threw a couple bananas in the freeze unpeeled and it did work out so well! It is kind of hard to blend frozen bananas with the peel frozen to them!!

The Bee's

This is a picture of the bees coming out of the floor, which is where they land before crawling into the hive.

The hive area

This is a smoker. It makes the bees think there house is on fire and they are too busy gathering there honey to be to aggressive

My sister

Here she is taking the hives apart

This honey frame is from the "super". Which is a upper chamber and only honey is stored in that since the queen bee can not get to it.

Here she is taking a brood fame out. This is the brood chamber where the queen lays eggs and young bees hatch. The brood chamber is the bottom on the bottom of the hive. It will have a queen excluder on top of it to prevent the queen from laying eggs in the honey that is in the super.

Honeycomb from super

This honey frame is from the Brood chamber. You can see the larva, that is white.

This honey frame is from the Super. All Honey!

Honeycomb from the Super

My mom, she loves the bees... cant you tell!

Smoking the bees

Honey frame from the Brood Frame. More Larva.

Me-"Hey mom, What are you doing", My mom-"Iam protecting my neck from the bees.." Me- "Well huh... What about your arms?" Shes so funny!!
