Halos of Hope

I taught Lilly how to knit on a circle loom, she has really enjoyed it!! I was talking to her about making hats and giving them away and she thought that was a great idea! I had originally thought to give them to the maternity  ward at St. Luke's but then I thought maybe there was somewhere else that needed them more, somewhere that would help teach Lilly in the value of helping others. This is what I found!! And there is a Yarn store in Brookside to drop the hats off at and they get them to Halos of Hope! I encourage everyone to try this with their young kids or just by yourself, think of the impact your child could make!!

Ps. Lilly is 5 years old and she has been able to do the circle loom since last winter!

Lilly knitted a Hat!

Lilly knitted and finished her first hat!! This is it on Raleys Bitty Baby. I could not find "Dollie" Lilly's Bitty Baby, so when she she saw these pictures of it on Raleys baby doll she was ticked! Funny stuff. But it turned out awesome if you ask me especially for a 4year old!! It makes me so proud!

Lilly Knitting

Lilly told me she wanted to knit so I thought, Great! We went to Michael's and bought her, her own knitting supplies! I got her circle looms, the set that I got has four different sizes. She picked out her yarn, and I saw the bag I wanted to keep for myself and knew she would love it to hold all her knitting supplies!! She has been doing great with it and its so cute to watch her quietly knitting away! I have even been showing her how to knit with needles which that level of hand motor control and is hard for her at her age but she still loves to try! The circle loom is great because she can do it by herself! She started off on the orange loom because she wanted to make a hat for me but it was taking forever to get one loop on so finally half way threw the day I was able to talk her into going down a size.
